CWIA Update - Sept 4th, 2006 CWIA Women in Aviation in Canada Conference, Victoria June 7-9, 2007 Plans are well underway, and we'll send you an update in the next mail out. Be rest assured, the pub crawl has been planned out already! CWIA CAREER BOARD This is such a great time in the Canadian aviation industry. Many people are advancing their careers and students are finding their first jobs. Thank you to everyone who submits job postings and advice to be shared with everyone in the Canadian Women In Aviation database. In order to get information to everyone in a timely manner we have created a Career Board on the CWIA website. Instead of e-mailing in your job postings and advice and waiting for it to be sent out to everyone in the monthly CWIA e-mail update, now you can post them onto the career board where they can be accessed immediately. 2 of the jobs have application deadlines this week, so have a look! Simply click on http://www.cwia.ca/board/index.php. Anyone can view the postings, you do not need to login first. If you have information you would like to share with everyone, click 'login'. If it is your first visit you will need to register so click on 'not registered yet'. All that is required is a username and valid e-mail address. When you finish filling out the form click 'register' and your password will be sent to you immediately. Now you can login and post entries. We hope this service will be of benefit to you. Please send your feedback to us at national@cwia.ca. For other career info visit our website at www.cwia.ca. (soon to be posted - some YVRAA Environment jobs, that aren't on our company website yet. If you have education and experience in the roles of Environmental Specialist (Noise Management), Environmental Specialist (Impact Assessment), Environmental Analyst (Noise Management), or Environmental Analyst (Hazardous Materials), then check back in a couple of days, and they'll be up on the Career Board shortly) HELP FOR A PILOT - MONTREAL Great news! There's a fellow WAI and 99 member who has won the CRJ type rating from Bombardier, who will be spending a few weeks in Montreal in the next few months! Her name is Dana, and she's looking for an inexpensive place to stay. We have her email address, and she'll be getting the dates of her training from Bombardier in the next month, and she will forward them to us. Can you help? Are you near where Bombardier trains, and can offer some advice? Email back and let us know! All tips are appreciated!
